Contest Cause lets you run a no-hassle online fundraiser that leverages the power of social media to generate an ever increasing number of people eager to participate. Contest Cause gives you the best platform to set up a quick, easy fundraiser, and running it is simple once you understand how it works!
Step One: Select an official administrator for your cause.
This “Cause Admin” will be responsible for the following:
- Setting up your online fundraiser by completing the Start a Cause form on our homepage and going through the registration process (see more below.)
- Kickstarting the promotion of your cause’s custom URL using the handy Tell-a-Friend tool provided and by spreading the word on Facebook and other social networks (using social media for fundraising is quickly becoming the best way to reach the most people in the shortest timeframe.)
- Approving the shirt designs submitted to your cause, (this is why submitted designs don’t show up on your cause page immediately.)
- Receiving the funds when the contest is over and all shirts have been delivered (unless your cause is a registered non-profit organization (501c), in which case a check is cut directly to the non-profit.)
Step Two: Register at Contest Cause.
This only takes a few minutes of your Cause Admin’s time. They’ll need to provide the name for your cause, and give a short description of your organization and what the profits of your cause will be used for. A custom web url will be assigned to your cause.
Step Three: Decide how long you want your online fundraiser to last.
You can choose two weeks, or a whole month as the submission deadline, and then an extra 15 days will be added for voting to finish. This makes Contest Cause an extremely fast fundraiser compared to traditional catalog fundraisers!
